Conversations Captured!

Just shy of her 5 month birthday and Quinn has really turned into a conversationalist! Apart from her nursing chats with Mommy, Grammie Alford and Uncle John were able to experience the full effect and FINALLY I was able to have John capture some on camera for all to enjoy!

Yes, I'm improving with my tummy time too! The real trick is for Sophie to lie in front of me so there is something really interesting to watch-not just listen to my mom try to cheer me on as she watches the clock :)

I continue to be in AWE...

Okay, so my little munchkin continues to amaze me everyday...whether it be the ear-to-ear grin on her face as she looks up at me from her 'big girl' crib every morning, or the cooing sound of contentment as she lulls herself to sleep...but today tops the cake! Quinn and I had our first 'real' conversation-as she peered up at me to take break from eating, she could not contain her words as she babbled back and forth with huge smiles and even a little giggle-it brought tears to my eyes as she went on with this discussion for about 5 minutes! With a twinkle in her eyes as if she was really trying to get her point across, gazing up at me...gosh, I truly wonder what she was thinking! Oh, my little pumpkin pie, you are just too cute and amazing! I can't believe you're mine! You light up my world everyday and I'm certain now that I know the true meaning of motherhood and just how special it is-you are just too precious for words!!!

I introduced the ultrasaucer-it is her new favorite, but she doesn't mind sharing with her buddy, Hakon!
Yup-first playgroup was a HIT! Quinn's new buddy, Graysen helped even out the boy/girl ratio-the 'older' boys were quite the entertainment for the two ladies :)

A happy belated Valentine's Day to all! We had a girls day out at the mall-Quinn got to spend her gift cards and...what else...more clothes!!! She needed to get some spring items 6-12 mos.-can you believe it???
Monday was probably the worst day of her life so far...month 4 vaccinations-ug! Poor thing screamed like I've never heard her-not fun! I promise you, Sweetie, your Daddy will take you for the 6 month round because I cannot bear to hear you in pain like that for awhile!

3 week countdown to Fallon...can't come soon enough!
Miss you all!

Spring is just around the corner!

Spring is just around the corner! We enjoyed 70 degrees here over the weekend-can't wait for it to continue! As you can see, Quinn is getting really good at holding her toys, reaching for things and wanting to put everything in her mouth!

More playtime with Mitch-he had fun entertaining Quinn in her swing, and Boy did she keep her eyes on him-she was very amused!

Ab came down from DC to meet little Quinner! Such a nice visit-we did girl's lunch out and Abby got a chance to see what the daily routine looks like for us :) You're ready now too, right?
Quinn loves her trips over to Hampton to visit Uncle John and Great-Grammie, Auntie Beth was back up for a visit too! We all enjoyed the gorgeous day outside together!

Here is a shot of my girl laughing at Mommy while she gets to swing and I am hard at work :) She keeps me company in the afternoon lately since she has been an insomniac and not continuing her 2hr. nap once Sarah leaves...
Last night (after only about an hour nap late afternoon), this little lady stayed up until 9:45pm-I thought for sure she would go down easily around 7:30 with no naps, but no such luck!
It's SO great to have such a great little companion home with me while Brent is away...we miss him tons and can't wait for him to finish up in March! We're halfway there!

Big news for the week-I'm hosting a playgroup on Thursday afternoons...more pics to come with Quinn and her buddies: Mitch, Hakon, Graysen and Daniel!

Quinn-4 Months & All Smiles!

Wow 4 Months already-time is flying and I'm slacking with this Blog! Quinn is doing great! Some tricks she's added to her daily routine: sitting up in her Bumbo (above), pushing up with her legs into standing position, hands in her mouth constantly (lots of drool too-better not be a tooth soon), watching TV (I know, I know-not before 2!), smiles and cooing back to me-so cute, and starting to reach for objects! She still HATES tummy time, but can hold her head up great, so I'm trying to let this one go~

We finished up our visit in VT and drove back to the Beach-14 hours...thank goodness my mom was with me! Quinn was a trooper, but the last 2 hours she was over it!
So far I'm embarking on week 3 back at work-so far, so good, but already 2 sitters have fallen out and our 3rd, which I love, is pregnant with twin girls due in June, so I'm not sure how long she'll be up for this gig!

We've settled back into life at home without Daddy-Brent is doing great in Fallon, one month down so far! Quinn and I will fly out for his graduation March 13th and spend a week in Tahoe after-can't wait!!! We try to keep Daddy up-to-date with skype sessions-she smiles and coos when she hears his voice-she definately knows her Dad!

Can't wait for the weigh in at her 4 month apt. next week-as you can see, she's definately packed on the pounds...already in some 6 month clothes!

Promise to give this blog a facelift soon-I'm jealous of Caroline's fancy new background! I vow to get better at least posting more pics regularly for you all to see Quinn's progress, and I will figure out how to upload video clips too! Geez, don't forget this is high-tech for the girl that doesn't even do texting! HA :)
